I knew I had to go through my closet and give it the full treatment; the closet cleanse and purging, trying on pieces and shopping my own closet for new outfits. I had known for a while, but every time I went to go do it I had a “better” reason come up as to why I would not be able to reorganize my wardrobe that day. Sure, sometimes they were valid reasons such as work, but then there were the not so great reasons such as not feeling like it. Finally, it got to a point where I told myself it was getting done and I blocked off the time, no excuses/interruptions allowed. At first I found myself thinking this is quite the project however, as I got going I realized it was actually much more rewarding and easier than I told myself it would be. You know the saying, “do as I say not as I do,” well that is pretty much what had happened in the last few months of my life regarding my closet and wardrobe. I always tell my clients they need to be honest and kind with themselves, so I took that approach with myself as well. It allowed me to work without feeling bad that it has taken me so long to clean out my closet, get rid of pieces that were a waste of space in my wardrobe, rediscover some pieces I had forgotten about (it happens to me too), put together some great outfits with clothes I already own but used in a different way, and figure out just the items I need to fill in the gaps of my wardrobe. By the time I was finished I felt like a new person with a lot of new outfits and a clean and organized closet! The reason I am sharing this with you is because we all put off things from time to time (or all the time) that we have been wanting to do or know we should do but always find a reason not to. Instead of putting it off for another day be kind to yourself and book an appointment with me. Before we are even finished, I promise, you will feel like a new person and once we are done you will have a newly organized and styled closet and wardrobe! Now that is something not to be put off!
